The on/off switch for the cruise control is apparently corroded.

When I switched it on there was no light in the switch. I then toggled the switch several times and now there is light (and cc works) when the switch is almost in the ON position. I have to push the switch back just a tad.

It is not a stable position however....

So, is there a viable alternative to buy an entirely new switchkit?

Is it possible to split the switch apart and clean the contact or is it a sealed unit?
I have only ever heard/read about an completely replacement.

My machine is from 08 and there is no extra guarantee.

Edit: suddenly I had a breakthrough in my search, by not using the search funktion in the forum, but rather using Google and restrict it to this site.

Anyway there is this thread, that gives me hope: http://www.k-bikes.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14004&highlight=clean+switch
