I have my '04 GT fuel tank completely removed from quick dis-connect hoses, electrical plug, etc... . I wish to test my new lights, and maybe some other add-ons. Is it a NO-NO to do this after I re-install battery??. Meaning, is there a problem because of electronic fuel injection, or computer spikes?. Thanks.

My unofficial answer is it's safe to test the electrical system with the tank removed, just don't hit the start button. I've done it multiple times with two different K bikes and I've never had a problem. I'm sure if you asked a trained BMW technician, they'd tell you no or never but then again...

No Problem......just Dont Try To Start It....it Will Reset Next Time You Go Out....only Thing Is That It Might Remain In Memory...but Should Not Default
