Is it possible to remove the DB killer of Stock Exhaust?

If its removed by machining is it a problem?

I just bought a new can and swapped out the original . the original has a cat, you can't alter it. I bought at the time a laser hot cam. very deep and throaty

My 1300 came with Remus and it's not too loud but if I can find a nice new quiet stock can I'd want to try it. I'll try posting in "Wanted".

I got one off a K1300s to put on my GT

it needs a 5" link pipe, but its far lighter, far prettier, and as the S makes 15BHP more and has a flap valve the pipe is straight through.... but retains a CAT and a stamp claiming its original so plod won't be able to fight much

I got rid of the bike before fitting it

The stock exhaust on these bikes is obscenely heavy, but if slower and quieter is your thing.

Somewhere (I don't recall where) online is a well written and illustrated post where and owner removes the cat and re-welds the remaining bits back together. Louder, though.
