....without so much as a tap on the brake or flash of the lights?
Man I thought I was toast this afternoon. Have to get used to setting the cruise again.

Yeah it was a lousy start to the thread.
I meant by observed by "John Law". What was your biggest "Oh Sh!t!" moment, only to have the cop not even bat an eye, or at least as far as you know.
Coming home from work, on the day I posted the thread, on a really straight piece of road, there is one small "rise" in the road. I am approaching the rise way too fast, here comes a county boy over that rise, I'm doing like 90 flat. Oh CRAP! I'm toast, but do the obligatory jab on the brakes, but just waiting for the lights at any second, even before I am past him. Nope, no lights. Check rear view, hell he ain't even on the brakes! WOW! THAT is redemption, man! I'm a CHANGED man, no way am I ever speedin' again! :hypocrite

Been observed at 240km/h (149mph) in the car at night. John pulled out, so pulled off, shut the light, and waited. Few seconds later, red/blue lights flys right by me .... funny thing was, my plan ... "shit, I'm done, might as well pull over, shut car down, cause he's taking me in anyways" ... I must have been so far away by the time he pulled out, that he locked onto the wrong tail light after I shut off.

That was a few years back, and I've quit speeding since.

Had a good buddy who owned a Duck,999 or 1099, he was clocked at 129, pulled over took off helmet, took out info and waited. Long arm gave him 85, for good attitute, instead of taking to jail.

He then said 169 was the fastest.

25 to 70?

A couple months ago just before dark, I got caught behind an 18 wheeler who was behind a sedan. The Hwy made a 90* left turn. The big wheel dropped down to about 5 mph and made his turn. We were in a 35mph zone, with a double yellow and here I come with the KRS sucking air. I shifted at about 65 as I passed the 2nd car, and blue lights came on every where at once. I passed a plain clothes cop, and another cop was in a parking lot turning around. I pulled right on off a nice 10' shoulder, and the cops pulled in as the trucker tooted a tune on his horn. I got my paperwork and as the 1st cop walked,
I told him I got caught red handed. He asked the other cop if he radared me and he replied, Yes, between 25 and 70mph, I've never seen my radar change that fast.
We got to talking and he reprimanded me and turned me loose.
I stayed legal the next 20 miles and he finally passed me at the county line.

110mph

110mph , I went by a black charger that did not have the light bar on it ,just okc deputy on the side when he came on and stoped me he asked how fast I was going , I told him I did not know ,and had no excuse.I thought I was going to jail as he was pissed and chewed on my ass for awhile ,after calling in to check my status out ,he returned and gave my license and insurance verification back , and told me he had 24hrs to ticket me and said he would be by tommaro to do so.I said ok and he did not stop by the next day.( but I was at home most of that day) I thought it was nice of him .Oh he asked me what I did ,"I'm a retired machinist" ,and he chewed on my ass some more for not noticeing detail ! I don't expect that to happen again. the 2000 krs is still runing great with new ANGEL tires on it , feels good.

jabbed

Had the R1200CLC big bagger pegged at a buck ten for two or three miles on 68 through the MD hills before the Bionic Freckle sitting on back looked over my shoulder, observed the speedo, and began jabbing me in the ribs to slow down. Just wanted to see what that big old pig of a bagger would do. Took me forever to crawl up to that speed.

Regularly tour the freeways with the digital cruise set at 85 on that CLC. Have often sped by smokies in the woods that way. They don't seem to read your speed like they would if you were in a car. Besides, you're not going as fast as it says.

Got the V65 Magna up to a buck twenty with her on back once. That didn't take but a flick of the wrist. Bionic Freckle refused to get on pillion after that. Hit a buck forty on that Magna other times; but was not observed. Didn't like leaning way over the handlebars, so didn't do much more of that.

I am not a speedster. Just sometimes you have to open her up.

Made an illegal pass over a double yellow once, maybe 25-30 mph over the PSL on a mountain road. The oncoming just happened to be a CA chippie in a Crown Victoria. I saw him pull over in my mirror and thought "Crap. It's me he's after."

Knowing it would take him a 2-3 point turn around in the Crown Vic and that I had traffic behind me so it may take a bit to get me, I took a quick dive off some goat road and hid. A few seconds later he goes by on the highway with his light bar ablaze.

I figured at $300 per ticket, I had to wait it out for a spell vs. my hourly wage. I stayed there for a long time too. I was more afraid of running into him again later on the same road but I didn't. Knowing their shift-change time can be good too.

Oh, you haven't lived until you have one follow you for almost 30 miles on your tail either. Break-neck 55 mph the entire way on cruise-control and he wouldn't budge or pass. He'd close in so tight I could count his teeth, and then back way off. The hotel's cook already warned me they were doing some maximum enforcement and he got tagged for a mere 1 MPH over and was really miffed as it was on his way in that morning at 5 AM and only him and the cop were out there. Anyway, I was thinking he was trying to hide from oncoming traffic as he would close in and the move over to the right side of the road to make a flippie if needed. I finally got a loud solid burst out of my Escort radar on Ka band from him and he targeted some oncoming pickup and did a flippie. Never heard a burst out of his radar the entire time other than that one and he had already marked the guy as I saw him bolt upright when the truck was approaching and then I got the alert. I suspect he was playing with me the entire "30 miles of Slow Speed Hell" to see if I would bust the 55mph PSL too.

133 MPH on the GPS Max reading on the K120GT. I know the speedo said more, but I know the GPS is more accurate. The wind was pushing me around a bit too much for comfort. There was I suspect about 27 more MPH left.

there ya gop

Now there ya go. Boston Bagger rises to the challenge. Got the equipment = got to use it.

That same BS happened to me, Mack. Many many years ago, two days after they first mandated the 55mph freeway limit, I was driving a delivery van back to San Jose over the Santa Cruz mountains on 17, I think is the highway number. Got nailed for doing 56mph. I pointed out to the chip that at the time he pulled up behind me a car was passing me in the right lane doing way more than a lousy mile over. He said, yeah but I know you delivery guys ... you bust the speed limit all day long. I had to acknowledge we couldn't do the job without. Live cargo of tropical fish demanded quick delivery or died.
