I was interested in a front wheel lift for the K bikes in order to remove the front wheel without disaster. I know a friend has one for his busa and I was wondering where is a good place to buy one for the K bikes.

One more item I am interested in are the protective panels that cover the area where your knees rub on the tupperware. I know Tank Slapper carries the clear ones, I was wondering about the other kind.

Thank you

Ben

I was never able to get a straight answer for a front wheel lift...bmw manual lists one, but I could never find the full part number (or the cost). Local dealer/parts/service folks didn't know of any (then again they are somewhat clueless). Asked this in the old forums, someone said they had the MOTOBOSS FRONT WHEEL STAND from Cycle gear. I bought one, seems to work, but it's not a perfect fit. You have to be careful when raising it, since it is really sitting on the screw heads in the holes under the forks. Others have used a barn door track and hung it from the ceiling (assuming you have enough braceing across multiple rafters in your ceiling), then essentially hang the bike (where you can take both front and rear off at the same time) and use a comealong.

Front Wheel Stand for a GT

The original post read "chock," but I assume he was referring to a stand. Anyway, the R1100S stand, part # 99990005289 is supposed to work on an RS or GT, but I don't have first-hand experience with it.

You can buy sheets of the 3M plastic from your dealer or online. Make a template and cut them out. It is the same stuff tankslapper sells you. Besides, the one I did buy from them did not fit.

Front Wheel Lift

I use a Pit Bull front wheel stand....has rubber cushions on the part that the forks sit on, works just fine, no clearance problems. Same stand works on the Triumph Speed Triple and my Ducati 996. No modifications needed.

Wheel stand

Thanks Guys, Where did you purchase the Pit Bull stand. Are they usually carried at most of the other dealers like Honda or Suzuki dealers? Also I'll check out Santa Cruz BMW

Helimot Accessories in San Jose carries the Pit Bull stands. Also, they're bound to have a display at the Int'l Motorcycle show in downtown...

But, I'm guessing you're close to Santa Cruz as you mentioned Santa Cruz BMW. Your profile doesn't list a location, so San Jose may be out of the question.

Santa Cruz

HI Razel,
Actually I'm in Pittsburgh Pa. But I have bought from Santa Cruz before. They seem like a pretty nice guys. The local shops did not seem to be interested when I asked them about a lift. I have no problem going somewhere else for items. Thanks for the info.
