I'm attempting to install a air/fuel programmer but hit a snag trying to remove the air box. There were two screws in a mounting bracket at the top front of the box but the bottom seems to held on by the air intake tubes with clamps I'm not familiar with..
Hoping that I'm missing the obvious easy way to remove this and appreciate any insight or advice.

The clips will "pop" off if you use a small screw driver to separate the inner and outer part of the clip thingy.

To do them up you just use pliers to squeeze the clip thingy shut.

I installed a Power Commander a few years ago and had no problems but found the factory hose clamps to be a Roaring Pain In The Ass to get back on. I bought a set of regular hose clamps of the correct size & Width (narrower then standard) and just for good measure, I put a dab of thread locker on them. The factory repair manual even mentions this as a suitable replacement.

When routing the wires, take a long look at how you have them laid out to avoid where they may rub or pinch. That whole area is exposed to the hot air coming off the radiator and exhaust pipes which isn't great for wiring insulation. And it's not like you are going to loose a light or two if they fail; It's your ignition we are talking about here. Take your time and do it right.
