It is so nice to hear a good review. So many, ( and rightly so) have complaints. Every one should post their experiences...BOTH good & bad!

So on this thread, only good news. We don't wanna hear nothing bad...we have the mid east problems & bmw's mistakes enough for a life time...

What Say you that is good?

Not K1200R related, but my K1200GT is the best motorcycle I have ever had the pleasure of riding. 8000 miles and nary a single problem whatsoever.

Good news

I know this is the R board, but I too have have had 27k miles of riding pleasure out of my K12S. It is the most comfortable high performance bike I've ever owned.

I've ridden my S across the western U.S. and it never seems to disappoint me.*

2nd KR

Sep 2004 Intermot - Surprise Roll-out of the potential K1200R. Good News for naked bike lovers!

June 30, 2005 - Surprise from my dealer. He pre-ordered a non/non K1200R for me in his initial allotment. Sun Yellow (soon to become the Black Beast).

July 29, 2005 - Took delivery, rode 600 miles. Returned for 600 mile service Aug 2. No problems.

May 17, 2006 - Insurance and BMW Service declare K1200R (Black Beast) non-repairable (following low speed pancake with a country boy driven truck...too complicated to explain). Pickup and ride off 2nd K1200R that day.

June 30-July 17 2006 Boise and Back on K1200R. Virginia to Idaho and return. No Interstate Highways. Worked like a charm. New tires in Loveland Colorado at 6K miles.

And that's just the highlights. Every time I ride the smiles get bigger.

Well I for one have nothing BUT good things to say.

Some dude parked his Ferarri next to my KR the other day at Fashion Island, got out and drooled all over my bike for a while.

Couple of girls wanted to know if they could take pictures on it.

I beat the hell out of a Lambo that wanted to race me Newport Coast drive three days ago, I thought I got the whole thing on vidoe by my f---ing archos crapped out again. I wish I had it. The guy eventually slowed down and wouldn't dare pull up next to me at the light so he stayed 30 feet back.

The brakes have saved my life at least once.

I have put more miles on the bike in two months than I did on my previous bike (Honda 919 Hornet) in two years.

EVERYONE who walks or drives by it says: "Nice bike!" with a shocked look on their face.

Well I did not say we could not talk about the problems. I was hoping for a condensed compendium of attributes and accolades for the k Series. AS for Mr. Sterile ( SS..the fascist hypocrit) don't get me started :v:

Yep, it was. I'm suffering from a very bad case of K1200R withdrawal - a month ago my dad borrowed by 40-days-old white aluminum K, and had a small fight with a truck. The truck won, but the brakes very well saved his life, leaving him with just a couple of cracked ribs and some bruises - he's now fine and enjoying some beach time with my ma.

Only bad news is I had to wait for the adverse insurance guy to come and counter-evaluate the damage, I won't be seeing my bike until at least the end of september. Oh well, the thought that my R is waiting for me will make my comeback from honeymoon more bearable...

I've had my issues with the bike, but I absolutely love it.

At 6,100 miles it's a joy to get on every day and tuck to work. It's a rare day I don't get to to the elevator smiling.

One day I went in hot into a decreasing radius HP turn without knowing what I was in for. Leaned and stayed on the throttle and the bike did what it does, no problem. My friend on his Guzzi wasn't so lucky. You could chalk it up to experience, but I think a fair bit of credit goes to the bike. (friend's fine, btw. Turns out he mostly just crashed on his wallet.)

It's not hard to go fast, but it sure is fun.

Servo assisted brakes are awesome.

I have also found the brakes to be excellent. I particularly like the servo assist. Awesome stopping power with very little brake lever pressure required.

As another has said, the more I ride the bike, the more I like it!

Actually that applies to most BMW's. The more you ride, the more you get the"Zen" of it.... "THE PURE RIDING PLEASURE". My last UJM was in 1976
