I wrecked the lower right (big) fairing panel on my 03 K1200 GT. Bought a used panel from a 1200RS to replace it. The only difference is lack of holes for the rubber wind deflector on the RS panel. I'm working on making a template (working from the inside) on the old one so I can drill holes on the RS panel. Has anyone ever done this? Is it best to drill from the inside or outside (via pilot holes in either case). Any other advice?
Thanks in advance.

"Measure twice - cut once" and drill from the outside, after putting painter's tape over the drilling site. It's easier to mark, and might minimize damage from a skidding bit. Drilling in avoids an edge that will need a bit of sanding. Not good for a painted surface.
