Has anyone used this yet:

http://piratesk12site.net/headlightS.htm

From Jerry's site.

It looks neat, but I'm wondering:

1) How well does it stay attached to the Dual-Lock fasteners?

2) How well do the Dual-Lock fasteners stay adhered to the headlight lense?

3) Is it really easy to remove and re-install for cleaning, etc...?

4) Does it adversely affect the headlight performance in any way?

I could just replace the JMH Motorsports protector that I have on there (it peeled in the corner) under warranty, but I'm wondering if just trimming away the peeled corner and then installing this over it would be a better permanent solution?

As always, thanks in advance!

I've got a similar setup on my '98 KRS. Mine came from Aeroflow, and it uses the dual-lock
fasteners as well.

Been on the bike for almost nine years now. Comes off for cleaning, goes back on and
stays there til the next cleaning.

Xpel Headlight Protectors

I have used Xpel on my K1200GT, my Ford F-250, and I am planning to use it on my new K1200S... Check out this website:
XPEL Technologies Corp.
http://www.xpel.com/products/configurator.asp?prevtype=3&prevyear=2006&prevmake=89&prevmodel=0&prevsubmodel=0&prevseries=0&type=3&year=2006&make=89&model=1596

It's $49.95 for just the headlight protection, but installation is said to be "advanced". In other words, if you are not good with soapy water and hairdryers, you should seek professional installation. They have links to professional installers for your specific areas, too...

Cheers!

Protector

Just got mine from the Pirate so cant answer all questions but here are a few.
- Attaches very easily and seems very secure. I had CeeBailey set up on my GT and it NEVER got loose
- Adheres well to both the protector and to the headlamp lens. Follow the instructions on cleaning everything with alcohol to ensure a good stick.
- After it sets up, it is relatively easy to pry off, although I dont think I will need to very often. I rode this weekend through some very buggy country and didnt need to clean underneath as it provides a pretty tight/close fit
- Cant see any degradation of headlamp perf.

Last comments - it actually doesnt look as bad as I thought it might. Seems like a cheap insurance policy to me/also seems to be very high quality.
