Does anyone know what the difference is between their part TS05027 and TS05030. The first number is listed for the 1200 and the 2nd number is for the 1300. I dont see a difference.

Check the MaxBMW parts list and compare the part numbers of the K1300 and the K1200 handlebars. If they are the same it is a fair bet that there is no difference. Make sure to use and compare the same year models. I don't know why any company would go to the trouble to have different part numbers for identical parts. Call them and ask? Helibar used to make black powder coated and silver anodized bars. Check that.

The only reason I ask is I can get the 1300 Heli bars for 179 vs 199. Im a cheap bastard I guess. I will do some checking

Well they do show a different part number so I guess I will be safe and go with the correct part from Helibar

The K1300 version has 2 holes in specific locations drilles for the tap inside the control housing that keeps the control in the right spot and from rotating.
I don’t think that is the exact same in the K1200 version. I don’t recall if that there is a hole on both bars and if there is , that they are in the exact same location the 1300 are. K1300 has different control housings than the K1200.

Below is the K1300 setup.

Maybe I won't consider that and instead point out that it is a dumb idea.
You mean the very marketable and successful for a long time run mainly based on word-of-mouth advertising dumb? Or, the user endorsement and customer satisfaction dumb? You call a person cheap for trying to save $20 when he is willing to spend $179?

No,I have Helibars on my bike, they’re great. Trying to cheap out by $20 is dumb and potentially a huge hassle.

Well, it's not your bike and not your $20, so it's not really your hassle...

In the end, a question was asked and was answered, and isn't that exactly what these forums are for?

On the first part of your earlier post, I apologize in that your sentence indicated to me that you thought the Helibars were a dumb idea.

Thank you, but no need to apologize on the internet. The parts have different part numbers and are listed for different bikes. I'm simply at a loss as to why the original question exists in the first place, over $20 of all things.

Ya it would be a dumb idea unless the part numbers were the same. They are not so the proper bars are on there way for $199. It just looked like they were the same so I asked the question. I also apologize for letting your minds wonder. Now that we got that figured out we can move on.

That's okay. My mind wanders in random directions, for no apparent reason, at unexplainable times. I enjoy the experience until interrupted by the dreaded words, "Oh, Honey would you mind.....(insert anything you really don't want to do here)".😠

What do you suggest for handle bar height? I lowered them for more reach since I'm 6'2" but I noticed the ergos are very different.
Your solution may best be a different seat? If you are not a "peg dragger", you also might consider lowering the pegs with the lower seat to increase leg comfort.

Honestly, you gotta find what works best for you. Some riders are fine with the stock setup, or maybe a small change or two. Some need a bit more to get the bike dialed in.

I took my GT to my chiropractor and had them do a parking lot assessment. Based on that feedback, I brought bars up and back, pegs down and forward, and seat back just a bit. The bike is now ergonomically correct for me and completely comfortable for consecutive 1,000-1,500 mile days.

A good seat (Russell Day-Long) and good riding gear (LDComfort) also goes a long way towards all-day comfort in all riding conditions.
