Hi, new guy here, and I just bought a 2006 BMW K1200GT it had the cam chain rattle on startup. So I put it in for the winter and ordered the new tensioner. It came today and I got brave. It was a snap, I decided while there I would make sure that the plastic cam Guide thingy was installed (the previous owner said he did) I'm glad I took it off because one of the long cam chain slider guides was broken into about 6 pieces. Well as was fishing all that stuff out I know that the gear slipped at least a tooth or two. My question is without tearing the whole valve cover off is there any way to re-time just the lower sprocket somehow. I can't see any timing marks. I'm sure there's a way and it requires special tools. I don't dare try to bump the starter or try to start at all until I get this straightened out.
Any info would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Brian :)

Are you saying all the slack went to the bottom gear (gravity) and the chain came off the teeth down there but no where else?
