G'day

G'day Marty.
Welcome to the RS/GT club. This is a great list, mostly made up of old I BMW members (although that list is now back up and thriving).

Ride safe mate.

Ken.

Hi Marty
The RS is a great bike which you will enjoy blasting around the mountains. I have a GT which I rode around Victoria and Tasmania recently. You guys in the East have sooooo much better riding than we do over here in the West. Makes me want to move over there just to have access to the great riding roads you have.

If you make it over to this side of the continent, look me up.

Cheers.

Ken, not going past your area, but Craig, we will be in Perth for a few days around the 20th of June, I think.

It can be cold and wet in June, but we often have great days during Winter - about 18 degrees and bright sunshine, so you could get lucky. I've been for a few great rides recently with my mates up through the hills around Perth. The scenery should be even better when the countryside is green rather than bone dry brown that it is at the moment.

Look me up when you get here and I'll see if I can take some time off to show you around (any excuse will do!). Doesn't compare to the East of course, but they're good rides never the less.

It's a looooong way over here, so take care, especially with those kangaroos ... one gave me a bit of a scare recently on one of my hills rides. Not a good thing to hit one of those.

Cheers

touring

Just went through the Kiewa Valley , perhaps the fourth time this year. Lots of little vineyards, rivers, mountains, gold towns and pubs. You can do scenic tours of hundreds of k's from your base camp, returning each night. Yackandandah, Mt Beauty, Beechworth to name a few. I travel this country a lot ,Thursday Island to Hobart and a few places in between. The afore mentioned area is probably the pick
