Hello,
Thought I might share how to swap the swingarm from a K1200 into a K1100 or whatever uses that style transmission. I could not find anywhere where someone has done something like this, so I had to set out and do it myself. I'm posting this because this might help someone get this conversion done on their bike.

I swapped out the old K1100 swingarm because I needed the rear shock location for the type of look/ build I wanted. the K1200 swingarm looks so much better, but it does add 1.25in to the overall length. This shouldn't be a problem.

The conversion takes parts from a PowerBrick rear set kit and a few engineered parts to make it work. You also need to modify the driveshaft because the splines are different between the final drive and transmission. I'm sure there's other ways to get around this, but I chose to cut and weld the k1100 U-joint on the end of the K1200 shaft.

Enjoy!

Really interesting project - I'd love to see the bike again once it's totally completed. Will you take it off-road on that very funky rubber? Thanks for photos.

Looking good. I wanna try it with a K1100 final drive. Could you give the messurement of the length for the swingarm? From the centre of the bolt to the first ring of the boot.

The splines are different on the k1100 vs the k1200. The swingarm is about 1.25in longer in length if I remember correctly. Also the pivot bolts for the final drive are a larger diameter on the k1200 swingarm.

Here are a few drawings to help with the build. Keep in mind that this has been untested. 0 on road testing as of today.

Maybe a gusset plate in that triangle above the rear shock?
