Hi all, I run a 2006 K1200GT across the frame. It's got over 70K on the clock. After setting out on a touring break we arrived at our first stop having covered 120 miles. the weather was very hot and as we pulled up to the accommodation I heard a bubbling noise in the rad, the temp gauge was a little over the half way mark. The next morning the bike started straight away but only on 3 cylinders, my immediate thought was the head gasket. After a few minutes this cleared and I took the decision to 'limp' home. We duly arrived without issue, I removed the plastics to check the coolant level which was full. However I noted that the front of the radiator was well and truly blocked with road muck and seemed to have been like that a long time. I cleaned it out to find most of the fins were missing or damaged but there was no sign of leakage. I found a second hand rad on the internet and ordered it. In the mean time I went out on the bike which went as usual with no coolant problems. When the rad arrived I fitted it and using the vacuum method refilled it. I run it up and let it idle, after a small dump of coolant out of the expansion tank overflow pipe the fan came on and went off many times without further coolant being expelled. I took the bike for a long run, on the motorway the temp stayed below the half way mark, I then took country roads where all went well. However when I stopped the temperature went up to the half way mark and the fan came on, along with a discharge of coolant. The temp dropped as the fan took effect. However as soon as the temp rose again to the half way mark as the fan came on there was another splurge. I'm fearing the worst (head gasket) but has any one out there got any advice or help please. Many thanks.
