I am looking at a no-frills 1999 K1200RT with 14,000 miles and in excelent shape for $5,500. I have owned 3 R1100's and am looking at the K for the ergonomics, wind protection and price. Single owner, regular maintinance. What am I giving up buying a 10 year old bike? What are potential problems for this year? Thank you for your advice/experiance.

Buy it and enjoy it. If you dont like it you are only ever going to rip $1-2k if you sell worst case and probably much less.

Buy something new and youll rip that when you turn the key.

II thats your price range Im sure you will get plenty of bike for your money.

Have fun, ride safe.
