Ouch...Progressive wants to bump my insurance for a K1200s to $1500 higher than they were charging on my K1200rs. I am in Southern California and this is not going to cut it. So who in California has a reasonable price for insurance?

I have Geico now. Used to have Foremost and they dinged me pretty good after a claim.

Call Mike Felder Ins. at 800-7-CYCLES. He is in California and does motorcycle insurance only.

OUCH!!!!!!! I thought I was paying allot until I saw your post. Actually, It's been my perception that the cost of motorcycle insurance with many companies has been getting out of control. I live in San Diego, have a clean driving record and am paying $690.00 per year for full coverage on my K1200S through Farmers Ins. So I guess I'm not doing too bad.

Your increase is the total I pay for a 2002 Mercedes, 04 Harley Road King, 05 Ducati ST4s, and an 04 BMW K12RS in Virginia.

USAA insurance

Call Dairyland Ins. 800-526-4252. Do not know if they are in CA. I am in Md. and when I went to my new S from my RS last Aug. my ins. whent from 325.00 to 350.00 for the year. Might be because at the time they did not know what a k1200s was. I guess I will find out when I have to renew in July.

By and large it's a fair bet that whatever costs you a $ over there costs us a £ over here, but with insurance we don't have the claim happy litigious lifestyle you enjoy so fuly comprehensive insurance costs me the grand total of £144 a year or approximately $200 a year

You guys have it good. I pay around $700 just for the "basic" insurance. I pay another $400 or $500 for theft and collision coverage. Yep well over $1000 per year.

I'm 46, no tix or accidents and it's just under $500.00 a year with GMAC. I was with Foremost for 5 years before that and when I bought the KS they wanted $1500.00. So much for longevity with a company.

Too much!

My K12GT is arond $300 a year for total coverage with collision, comprehensive, liability, etc. I think its a $250 Deductable. State Farm, Ohio.

I don't like paying $300 a year but you guys are getting taken to the cleaners on Insurance.

Geico might suck but they were the only ones that wanted my business. With a ticket in Missouri and a totaled 996 on my record, Foremost went from $670 per year on the K1200LT and the 996 to $2400 for the LT and 998. Geico is at $1300 for the K1200R and the Ducati Monster. Coverage is 100/300/100K with $500 deductible.

I'll check rates again when the ticket falls off in September of 2006.
