Have an '06GT and put on a set of lower pegs and now need to adjust the brake pedal down. How do I go about doing this? I adjusted the linkage rod thinking that would do the trick (as it would on most bikes). Did nothing to lower the brake pedal. Service manual mentions nothing about brake pedal adjustment. Need some input from folks who've been there! Thanks

There is no adjustment for the brake pedal on the K bikes. I installed a set of lowering pegs on my K13GT and I bought a spare brake pedal on eBay. I took it to work and the machine shop heated it and bent it about an inch.

Thanks much for the reply. I figured something was up when adjusting the rod wasn't moving the brake pedal. Off to flea-bay I go!

If you really want to control your foot positions and have some serious range doing it, you'll have go with Aftermarket or the HP Rear Sets. Spendy but there you have it.

The basic bike; forks, swingarm , frame and even rear subframe are the same on an S, R or GT. The differences are all in the plastic, I have a complete R rear end on my S bike. The only part that had to be custom modified was the R seat. It had to be reworded in the front where it meets the S tank.

Brake pedals are different between the S and GT. Look at the parts fiche.

Yes, the foot controls are going to be different. That's what you are trying to do; change the foot controls. The frames are all the same so you can interchange peripheral parts from one model to another. When I tucked R rear fenders, splashguard, and tail section on my S-Bike, I didn't have to move any holes or cut anything but the front of the seat (plastic).

As a 50 year career machinist, welder, and sheet metal worker; I would suggest you not go bending either billet or cast Aluminum especially on a brake lever which your survival may have to depend on. The way you handle Aluminum modifications is to cut it, re-weld it and re-temper it. All welded Aluminum goes to "0"Condition (dead soft). It's that or just remake the part from scratch.

Go experiment.
