Hello All....
I picked up an oem exhaust system to replace the rusted, loud, back-firing aftermarket unit that was on the bike when i bought it. i think it's a Luftmeister unit but i'm not sure.
the new unit is pretty stinkin' nice (and nice looking) and much quieter than the aftermarket one.
It still sounds like there's a small leak around the head but i can't feel anything there. I am using the copper washers that were on the old system. if i were to get some new washers do you thinkg the air leak noise would go away?

Thanks in advance all.

Yes....and there may be some carbon build up in there too. Take the old ones out, clean the orifices and you may want to use a little "never seize" to hold the new ones up there as you install the exhaust, unless you have an extra pair of hands. Go for a ride, recheck the torque on the bolts. :thumb:

i cleaned the washers (but not the port). i put a touch of grease on them to hold them in until i got the pipe up in there.
i haven't rechecked the torque yet but will.
i noticed it still backfired but the backfire was a lot quieter :teeth
i will recheck before i put the K away for the winter.
thanks guys
