Good afternoon all
I am a new member now that I have finally found my dream bike.
I will have it delivered to me on Wed, and extremely excited.
I've had bikes for 15+ years, and this is the most excited I've been since I started riding.
I'm not much if a mechanic, but can do some basic tinkering.
Anyone have advice on what to look up on this forum for 'Must Do's' on a 03 K1200GT.
It's a stock bike with 2500 miles on it - fresh service, but I'm assuming there are some things you might know for me to look for right off the bat.
I'll continue to explore the site, but thanks in advance for any feedback.

Welcome, you will love your GT. I have a 04 and I feel it is just about the most "perfect" bike, I have ever owned. Comfy for 2 up long distance and more than enough power to have fun in the twisties. Sounds like you found a real find with that low of mileage. The only warning I would offer is to change out the plastic quick disconnects for the fuel lines, if they have not been switched to metal ones yet. They are prone to fail and once the fuel gets on the how magnesium of the block it will stain and you can't get it out. Easy do it yourself project. I have added the following to mine. Pirate's Lair removable back rest for the passenger and lowered her pegs (She is a lot happier). a Zumo 550 GPS with autocom system and PIAA driving lights under the front cowl. It has been a strong running reliable bike and my 2nd BMW.

Thank you very much cruizbz.
The bike should arrive to me by Wed morning and that will be the first thing I check for.
I will search on doing the switch to make sure I do it correctly.
In doing a little more reading on here, sounds like the ABS is something else to keep an eye on - but not to
Mess with myself )
It's going to be my second BMW and I really love my R1100RT.
Rode 12,000 miles a year on it, and kind of wished I never sold it.
But I couldn't be happier knowing the bike I always wanted is on its way to me.
Thanks again for your time!
