Well, the rains are coming, but we can plan for summer. Anyone know the skinny on track days around the Puget Sound? I'd like to get out and learn but don't know anything about getting on a track.

What's a good organization for someone just starting out? Any recommendations on who's got a good group that's fun and isn't about how big your ego is? Thoughts?

Thx.

Track days are a real hoot. My daughter and I went to our first track day when Reg Pridmore was at Pacific Raceway last year. Good instruction and nobody went down.

We then went to a couple of 2Fast events to include the Seattle 100. The first event with 2Fast I think there were 11 or 12 crashed bikes, which means you don't ride cause they are clearing rider and bike from the track. One guy was going so fast down the straight into turn 2 he went straight (looks like he never got it leaned over for the turn) and ran thru the runoff and hit the tire wall, he stayed on the track side of the fence the bike flew over the fence. Each 2Fast event seems to have lots of crashes. I'm thinking there is a price point where every wannabe Rossi shows up at the track and the safety riders just can't/won't/don't know how to deal with it. That being said, the track is a great place to play and work on technique and best of all NO SPPED LIMIT. Just think I'll try a different organizer this coming year.
