****Headed to Phoenix How will the riding be?*****

I am headed to Phoenix March 12 to March 21 and wondering how the weather is and how the riding will be. I am also inquiring as to which roads should be on our must ride list. Thanks in advance for any help.

Photo radar is freakin everywhere!! Watch you speed. There are mobile Redflex vans and stationary points along highways and city streets. Expect to get capped unless you practice exact speed limit driving. It is probably illegal to put a piece of duct tape over a digit on your plate. Telling an officer "I was getting ready for a big trip and working on the bike so that is probably where the duct tape came from" will probably get you out of a ticket.

Try taking 60 east from Phoenix to Globe and from there you have great road to Show Low or just east of town 77 south to Tucson is good driving. Radar detectors helpful because they sure like to patrol for speeders.

Was there two weeks ago and it was cold.

Ride safely,

Good reason not to wash your bike. Mud can be your friend. :D

Although I did get pulled over once by a cop who told me "I had too much bird crap (I picked a really bad parking spot downtown under some bird tree) on my windshield and if he couldn't see through it he knew I couldn't either." I had to pull into a gas station and make an effort.

Damn! Thought I had a new business venture. Seems I got beat to it. :D

Spray on Mud makes a hit.

Too bad the guy ain't got any to sell. Wonder if the constables shut him down?

There is a cushion but not too many people trust the gov't enough to even do the speed limit thru the lights, much less 10 over. You'll see this constantly on the xways.

I just got my first 'ticket' in years last monday night coming back from phoenix to socal via rt 60 thru wickenburg, etc. It was at night.

Actually I got a warning...for 6 over!! that was an LEO sitting on the oncoming lane, side of the road. I think he was bored primarily though. It was 71 in a 65.

There isn't a lot of highland riding right now from the looks of the weather but that is a great route thru payson, I take that all the time instead of the hiways when heading east.

remember, mariacopa communist county, do something stupid and you'll be wearing pink underwear in desert tents for the 2 yr minumum sentence they tend to hand out here if you spit on the sidewalk.

Trip to Phoenix

What kind of rides, roads, or sights do you like?
Which side of the divide will you be coming down on?
Or are you flying and renting?

Of course the weather here will be warm and dry; cool to cold in the mountains.

Let us know and we will send some highway numbers.
