I had some work done on the rear of the bike last year while I was on a trip ( 3,000 miles away). Upon doing some servicing I noticed the GS911 diagnostic interface did not pick up anything on the K1300gt. I used it on the other K bike I have and the GS911 functioned properly. The k1300gt ran fine and did not show any faults on the bike screen. Is there a way of easily finding the spot where the plug that joins into the interface is having the problem??? any ideas

See if you can look behind the diagnostics socket. On my old K12RS the OE wires look pretty untidy and skimpy as if they could get wet and drop off easily. The most important pair are the ground and +12V supply to power the GS911. Poke around all the pins with a voltmeter in different combinations. If you can't find 12 volt, that's where to start.

USB plug into the GS-911 instead of the bike's plug? Mine is iffy at times so I have to unplug and reconnect. And rather touchy a slight kick of the wire and I loose communication.I think there is something about that on the Hexcode website.Improvements to the connector on the later GS911s?Mine is certainly an early model.

But I finally got my $4.00 free shipping extension cable. That way I don't trip over the too short Hexcode cable and loose coms.
