Hey group,
I'm looking for a good power source for my GPS unit (Lowrance Iway 500c) any thoughts where to get power? What is your opinion about the Centech AP-1? Comments, suggestions?
Thanks

The Centech AP-1 mounted under the seat for easy access is a good way to go. I would suggest powering the unit through a relay rather than powering it direct to the battery and having it on all the time. The GT prefers a relay actuated from the front lights or the load-shed relay to power the panel only when the headlights are on - this way there won't be any fault signals on the starter circuit.

power source

Hi, I tapped into the power to the parking light bulb in front. Easy to get to, used the ground wire too. This is for my radar detector which does not need much power. Beech, '98 checker unit.

Two Thunbs up!

Been using the AP-1 for over two years now. Runs my XM and X50 and soon to add my 2610. It's the only way to go for a clean setup IMHO.

Added it under my seat (Corbin)with plenty of room to spare.
