I have this noise that has appeared and it sounds like an old door creaking when I rotate the rear wheel, can feel no play in the wheel bearing the wheel does not get hot, I have done the rear drive oil recently and just fitted new tyres thought it was them squeeking on the garage floor but definately not does when the rear wheel is raised.

I have taken the wheel off and the brake caliper turning the rear end using the wheel bolts you can hear the clicking inside the rear drive I don't think it's coming from the gearbox end

It doesn’t sound metallic enough to be the splines on the driveshaft but i have no iDea what else the noise could be. Does it do the same when you turn the wheel backwards? Do you still have drive?

It sounds like rubber squeaking to me. There is a rubber damper partway along/inside the shaft, but I don't know how that would be making noise, especially if you still have drive.
Only other thought is something rubbing against the shaft gaiter/boot on the inside. Again, I don't know how that would happen.

It does the noise both backwards and forwards in the garage, it's now been taken away back to the dealer for them to fix been gone a week now and still no sign of it coming back. Now interestingly I saved the old oil from it, in a clear bottle you can see specks of metal in the oil as it's quite noticeable, i remember the drain plug being heavily covered with goo as well, colour of the old oil is greenish and doesn't smell at all like gear old gear oil in fact it really has no smell??

That sounds to me like the ring gear to pinion stage is cactus. To many clicks for the main spline, but there's a large od 'sun' gear that sits inside the largest part of the housing that is driven by the gear that is attached to the drive shaft. If you have metal in the oil, that would be the gear teeth or what's left of them. Sorry, buy I think your rear drive hub is kaput.

Gear oil whether old or new usually smells really strong, like a heavy fuel oil, hydrocarbon smell, gets worse as it gets older. The fact it doesn't smell would seem to indicate it's not gear oil. Typically a 75w90 EP gear oil is what these type of drives take.
