Awsome can't wait for mine!

Sorry, this may be a little long! I am waiting on mine and went to the show in Atlanta to get a sneak peek! I found one thing that I REALLY did not like! Please look back at the photos at the bottom of the handgrip assembly and you can see something new! This is different than any previous BMW I am aware of and I do not like it! The handgrip assembly on both sides move about a 1/2 inch total travel 1/4 down and 1/4 up. This includes the brake and clutch levers along with all other controls such as heat ,cruise and ESA. There is a small metal bracket that comes out of the bottom of the assembly and then takes a 90 degree turn into the handle bars. This bracket is attached to the bars with a rubber gasket that allows for rotation of the grips and attached equipment. To me this seems to be something that may have been to reduce vibration or something of that nature, I am only guessing though. It seems that this would most definitely lead to reduced felt feedback from the tire! I like the change of the foot peg from the S to that found on the RT. Where and why did these new brackets that are on the grips come from and why! Can anyone answer this and can the rubber gasket be replaced with metal washers or something to prevent this movement. I have discussed this at the local dealer and on other forums and found little feedback. The dealer thinks I am wrong or that the bikes that were at both Daytona and Atlanta were assembled wrong or something they did not believe that this could be true. The photos previously posted show it, all you can really see is the place at the back of the bars where it connects. I mentioned this to the BMW Reps at the show and they too were stumped. Any other guesses or even better does someone know for sure what the deal is?
One other thing while I am being critical. The bike is easier than any other 1100 and up BMW to put on the center stand except of coarse for the electric LT. The problem is it is VERY hard to get it off the stand. The RT was easy to push off or drive off, I had to use all 155 lbs of skinny butt to rock the thing back and forth several times and then give it a real good push, It will look real funny at the gas station if you use the center stand to get the additional gas in! I did not get to test ride the bike but did follow right behind the bike on a S during the fall asleep slow ride. It was two up on the GT and looked good through the not so twisty twists, rider had okay lines but never touched the brakes or appeared to use engine braking in the turns. Yes, I have complained a little. Hopefully someone here can say I am wrong but I will still be happy with the bike overall if it ever does get here!

A knife right through the heart! :( Guess I'll have to reconsider the R1200RT... sigh!

Just my 2¢ worth here...get on it and ride it for a half hour to an hour if you can get a way with that much of a demo ride. Kind of like deciding whether or not you like the looks of the bike by the pictures, then seeing it in 3D at the show... (?)

Thanks again . . . my Dutch a bit rusty. Uhhh, understood, 'electronic suspension' and 'cruise control', but felt I could almost dub in English as the video quite good!;)
