Guys,

I've got 4,200 miles on my bike, and just last week I noticed that when I roll off throttle, the rpms will sometimes drop to 1,200 or so, and sometimes they'll drop, then surge to around 2,400 or so and then drop down. It's annoying in the corners, though now that I'm watching for it it's not a problem. I didn't notice this before. Is this one of the fixes that version 5.xx is supposed to address?

I think so... I've heard about this problem some of the magazines commented on this. Mine doesn't do it or I don't notice it. Also I use 3K rpm as a bottom redline, bike seems to prefer higher rpm's any way. Also my K is a late production 05, July. Seems the later ones are a bit less "finicky"

I think it sounds like you may need a throttle body replacement. Someone may want to jump in here with some info on the service bulletin and VIN numbers affected. There is a test the dealers can do with the GT1 test set that will determine whether you have a defective throttle body.

This is correct. Throttle body replacement is the fix. Dealers will do this under warranty, but only if the customer complains. So complain!
