Hi I'm new to the forum but the proud owner of a 2006 K1200GT (across the frame)

I purchased a well used example where the owner and his wife covered 40k+ enjoyable miles touring mainland Europe. At the end of his ownership the bike required some TLC mechanically

The lower rear shock bearing had seized resulting in the damper rod snapping in half, luckily I found a company that was able to fully rebuild the ESA shock for £350....The other job which required attention was the downpipes were blowing quite badly where the two pipes go into one, so I had these TIG welded up

I've covered around 500 miles on it now and all seems to be working fine, throttle is smooth and it doesn't seem to have any of the BBS some speak of. What I have noticed is sometimes I can grab a fistful of throttle and the bike feels like a 600cc...... certainly much slower than an ST1300 or Fjr1300

I don't know much about the bikes recall history but I do know it has
* Booster plug
* Remus exhaust can

Any suggestions on why more often than not the bike feels a little gutless in the mid range 3k > 7k rpm?

I'm wondering if it's software, airbox exhaust can or fuel pump related?

Get a printout of the recall history first. There was a software and air box issue with the early K bikes as well as the fuel pump flange and rear wheel hub.
