I can't drive in to one of the seat builders and believe I'll get one of the mayer brothers to build one for me. However, I'm torn over having to send my seat in for refitting when it makes the bike unrideable for several weeks.

How many of you actually sent your seat away and how long did it take to get it back?

Thanks,

Gravity

I just learned that Rick Mayer builds them on his seat pan then you send in your seat when you get the finished product. I think I might try that.

Thanks,

seat exchange

When I did my custom seat I bought a second seat on ebay so I could ride while waiting, then sold same seat when I got my awesome Rick Mayer custom seat back.

I've had two Mayer saddles and was happy with both. I'm thinking about another for a new K1200S, but don;t know if it's a good idea because of the sport-ride and how the saddle may affect handling. The other two saddles were on GS's. Any of you riding Mayer's on Sport bikes, and if so, how was the handling affected?
