I personally am excited about the new site and fresh perspectives.....One thing that really gets me going is that none of my numerous donations and money raising, ( radar detector proceeds) went to the old site. I will be more cautious in the future........Good Luck guys
If you scroll to the bottom of the main forum page and take a look at all the people logging in each day, you might notice the different colors. The different colors denote the levels of donations people have made to the site. As Randy stated, there are controls that have been put in place to make sure the dollars you donate go directly to the operation of the site. We invite you to click on the
Donate link on the bottom of the page. Or, if you would rather take a wait and see approach, we completely respect and understand.
We have 4 levels of donations.
BASIC,
STANDARD,
GOLD, and
PLATINUM. Donors at the
GOLD and
PLATINUM level get the added feature of customizing their user title. We plan on adding other useful exclusive features for our member donors in the future.
We also have added a VENDOR category for our supporting vendors.
STANDARD Vendors can promote their products and answer questions in the vendor forum.
PREMIUM Vendors will get their own exclusive subforum with their logo in which to promote their products and answer questions.

I'm glad the site is here. The new look is great. And I see the old feeling of "community" that I enjoyed for several years on the old site beginning to warm up here too. I'm pleased that much of the old site is archived here. An invaluable source of information and experience. I'll be around here to watch this one grow too.
We started feeling the "age" of the UBBThreads implementation about a year ago. While this platform was able to take us out of the days of chaos, hijacked usernames, and connection timeouts of the old Lotus Notes based system, it had also become dated and subject to attacks by hackers and script kiddies. After a long and detailed review of the available software, we chose vBulletin to move forward. Aside from offering the widest range of features, it is also the platform used by 3 of the 5 largest BMW communities.
I am also happy to see the "old timers" and "originals" returning to the site after being away for so long. There are a few names and writing styles I haven't seen in quite some time returning to the site. I commend Tim and the gang for returning the community spirit that brought so many of us together over the years. I think CABNFVR, LOCUS, htheater, and PeteA deserve a big "THANK YOU" for the hard work and tough decisions made over the past few weeks.
