I bought Throttlemeister bar ends for my 02 KRS, used, and they arrived with no instructions or spacers. I have heated grips and have no idea what is inside the grip once I cut out the end. I was told these bar ends came off of an RS with heated grips, but who knows, and I don't know if I have the right internal connectors. I could really use a set of instructions or a step by step procedure before I go and F*&K up my heated grips.

These are the parts I received, look at the screw heads.

I installed a set. Don't have the instructions anymore though. But listen very carefully. Installation is not a problem if you take heed.

1. The throttle side of these have a notch cut out of the side of the cylinder that'll allow you straddle the heating grip wire when installing.

2. The precaution is NOT to allow that cylinder squeeze-clamp to 'TURN' while your tightening the allen screw. (I forgot about this when I removed one or so of the spacers after the grip wore down that the throttle lock had lost its locking ability where vibration decreased the locking effect for any length of time. I cut through the single heating connection wire.. when the cylinder turned shearing the wire. I believe "fasteddieb" had a similar experience, if I remember correctly).

3. The assembly came with different thickness spacers (washers) to allow the right loose to tight ratio, if you know what I mean. You'll have to find some or make some to have it work for you.

4. With regard to #2, you'll need to hold very tightly the end of the Throttlemeister nob opposed to the way you're tightening that allen screw, 'MAKING SURE' that the inner cylinder doesn't turn while the squeeze clamp does its job and NOT cut through that grip's single heating wire.

5. Only cut enough rubber away at the end of the throttle side bar to allow that cylinder to slide into the bar. The rubber left on the end is your friction point circumference.

6. Take my word for it, it sux not having heated grips as winter approaches.

Well not quite
Today, I went to the BMW dealer to book time during my summer holiday (non-motorbikeing type) to have a new clutch install on my 99 K1200RS.
Those who have replace the clutch will know that BMW quirkiness on the clutch design, basically, you have to the the whole backend apart at something like 8.5 hour of labour!
Basically, it 's the poor house after paying $1200-1700 estimate for the clutch.

The dealer did provide me with some sympathy release, promise to install the thottlemeister for free....so I feel like I just won the lottery!
So hopefully, my wrist isn't so sore after 300 plus mile days.

throttlemeiser installed!

Got my throttlemeiser installed for free today at the dealer. as part of a clutch replacement.

Hmm....only issue is that it is differcult to use the thorttlemeiser and a throttle rocker at the same time...I am going to have to develop chimpanzee hands to cope with that.

I have one and was about to scan the instructions (if I could find them).

Why do you need a rocker and throttlemeister? I just came back from 650 miles each way to VT... I set the throttlemeister and went... easy once you get used to moving it each way. My dealer said there was no need for one since you dont take your hands off... well, I do rest my hands from time to time and it is just as nice ust to set your hands on the bars without gripping it and is a huge improvement over no TM. Short of cruise controll, my TM is definitely a must have, but my rocker has gone onto the shelf of not used crap (wish I could get my $10 back!).

Throttlemiser and Throattle Boss

I tried to ride the K1200RS without the Throttle boss but it was just too stiff....so I am leaving it on, which helps the normal ride very much.

I have learn how to use the Throttlemiser while still having aThrottle boss...I did not get chimpazee hands.

Note the rpm which you want to cruise, pull in the clutch...coast...and use the right hand to tighten the Throttlemeiser...then crack the throttle open until you get to the rpm which you wnat to be....it is easier than it souncd

happy now..

Just a suggestion, turn on the heated grips to high temp and wait about 10 minutes. If the spacers are not adequate, then the throttle will bind even with the ThrottleMeister at the full open position.

If it does bind, add some spacers.
