Planning a 6000 mile trip this spring/summer covering the Great West from Virginia. I have Z6's that will get replaced right before starting the trip. I have M1's on hand but suspect they would not get the full 6000 miles before needing replacement along the way.

170 lb rider with ATGATT adding 15-30 lbs. Side cases and top box loaded for 16 days away. US Highways, little to no Interstate Highway and a few side trips for twisty/sightseeing fun.

Recommendations?

I like the Z6 enough to use a set for this trip. I believe the Pilot Roads would also be suitable. Am I right to save the M1's for future, more local twisty rides?

Thanks all.

M

For a trip I'd pick Pilot Roads as my 1st choice and Avons for my 2nd. More info here.

p.s. It's your trip, and enjoy ... but if you have time, take US550 in Colorado.
and watch for criters ....

Thx

Thanks for the link and the tip. I try to remember all the tire threads and just forgot...

I like the road suggestion also.

I just happen to remember them. It's never a prroblem asking again. Tires change. I used to love BT020 Bridgestones, and now they are 3rd on my personal list. Tires, seats, and oil will always get mixed reviews.

In the heart of Ouray is a little restaurant on the "downhill" side of the street. It used to be Cecilia's, but the son bought it and now it's ... ?? Great breakfast. We've been through Ouray 3 times. Ate there twice. Excellent.
