I've seen those bags that are sold at REI and the like that are waterproof, and in to which you can put items such as your cell phone, gps unit, etc.., so that you can still use it (pushing buttons and hearing/speaking through them is possible) but that it will be protected from rain or from accidental drops in to water, etc...

Does anyone know if these would work for handlebar mounted electronics, such as a GPS or satellite radio receiver? I saw it mentioned in another post but the details weren't there. Do these "bags" work well and are they easy to mount in such as way that the bottom is sealed as well?

I found a very low cost method to cover handlebar mounted electronics during a rain storm. I can a few plastic bags and a little tape. Does not take up much room, is not heavy and most of all they are cheap. When I am doing a long ride and I hit a rain storm when I am finished putting on my banana suit I slip the bags over the items I am trying to protect.

Most (all?)of the Garmin GPS' are waterproof, no cover needed. There is a cover available for Roady's, check out Cyclegadgets.com.
