7or better

When I'm in the twisties, I keep it at 7 or better so I can wring out all that extra power coming out of a corner. The back tire will break free once in awhile so sometimes you have to be judicious with the throttle at high rpms. Also, I set my ESA to 2-up in the tight stuff.

With 2.911 ratio

Bearing in mind that the K-R is geared just a tad lower than the K-S, 2.91 vs. 2.81 to 1.

Just getting from point A to point B:
If traffic is real light, then 3-4K.
If traffic is medium, then 4-5K.
If traffic is heavy, then 5-7K.

Having fun in a pack of bikes and, or in the twisties:
No less than 7K, like to enter corners at 8-9K.

In sharper corners, the bike gets a bit too twitchy, at least for my skill set, in the corners if the rpm is too high, say 10K+.
