Link above is to the tank I'm considering purchasing.

I have an 87 K75s, need to replace the tank, been shopping ebay, heard that a k100 will work, any truth to this, and in particular the 86 K100. I've done a few tank repairs, tired of the on and off, just want to put a tank that works on it and move on to other problems.

I was just looking around at the beemerboneyard.com site. They listed fuel tanks as fitting both K100 and K75 of similar years. Early K100 fuel tanks ('84-early '85) mount with a bolt in the rear. Later tanks mount with two pegs on the tank into frame grommets. If the mountings are the same, they say they are interchangeable. Early K100 tanks use a diode for fuel level sensing, I think all K75's use a float as do later K100's.
