Has anyone fitted one of these YSS rear shocks to a 2002 K1200RS?

http://https://www.ebay.com/itm/123177976432

Previous owner cut and redrilled the original shock’s lower attachment point in order to lower the bike, and I’m looking for an affordable new shock replacement.

Thanks

I put a YSS on a K1100LT. No issues and a lot cheaper than the alternatives.

It did it's job, bounced up and down and damped. Most use was two up with luggage, and some solo stuff.

Lowering

isn't there a lowering link available?
If there’s a lowering link, the PO did not go that route. He cut off part of the “dog ears” from the bottom of the shock and redrilled the mounting holes closer (~1” - 1.25”) to the shock body. I think the only way to restore the rear to the original height is to replace the shock?

Aren't those shocks rebuildable? Try locating a dealer in your neck of the woods and ask if they can repair the unit.

I have just had my 03rs rear shock rebuilt with an ohlins spring in New Zealand and are currently on the test ride with and with out panniers 200kms 2up panniers and 300kms today just 2up . The shock was completely stuffed and losing oil before , but now for NZ$850 what a massive difference , i've never owned a car , been riding for 35 years and used Wilbur and white power , race tech since 1993 and for the money this kicks arse . True there is no compression dampening fast and slow only rebound but it's better than standard and most riders wouldn't no the difference

Cool, that’s an excellent result. Enjoy your riding in New Zealand, it’s an amazing country with arguably some of the best riding to be had. Anywhere.
