Hallo everyone and nice to be here.
I have a BMW k1300s 09 and I had issues with the heavy clutch probably by a tenontidis in my hand which gets worse and it is getting more and more difficult to ride long distances without soaring and some discomfort. As a result I searched and I read all the nice things described here and decided to buy an oberon slave clutch to help me.
I went to the dealer to install it and after it was installed I had the following problem:
I could not find neutral and the shifts got more difficult, even thought the lever pull is lighter. Also the slave is engaging way too early as the bike wanted to move with the slightest release of my clutch lever. When the engine is off finding neutral is really easy. It seems to me that the larger slave piston doesn't move/disengage the clutch as much for a given lever travel.
The dealership assures me that it was properly bled and perhaps there is a problem with my disc plates. My disc plates run smoothly until now but I noticed for the first time this year that after 1,5 year and only 3,5 thnd kms since the last oil change it was not so easy to change gear, so I replaced the oil and everything got better. The bike has 60 thnd km, all in trips without commuting. What do you think? If disc plates is the solution has anyone tried the Barnet discs? They are significantly cheaper than the OEM ones but do they have a good fit? Do they wear prematurely?
