A work stand lifting the bike using swing arm pivot
Looks great to use, curious if anyone has experience with it.

central bike stand seems to be cheaper and more usefull than this.

The only negative I've seen on a forum was that every bike required a specific kit in order for it to use the skylift.
There was a guy in France moaning about this regarding his newly acquired G310GS.
I thought it was overkill for a dirt bike, of less than 400lbs which can easily use a normal square dirt bike stand, costing next to nothing (once it has its mandatory METAL bash plate installed under the motor).
However he was upset & it was quite amusing. Other than that he loved it for his other bikes.

I got the superbike stand (no lift), only used it for my GSX-R (sorry for swearing) and I absolutely love it. For my 1200GT I don't need it, because it has a centerstand. Yes, you do need different adapters for different bikes.. But getting it on is super easy and once the bike is on the stand, it's also quite easy to get both tires off the ground with a small jack.
Advantages opposed to paddockstands imo: takes up less space in your shed/garage when stored, getting it on the bike is easy (as said), leaves more space around the bike while you're both doing some maintenance/repairs or ofcourse while you wash your bike, you can dismantle the whole front end of the bike without breaking your brain on how to support it without damaging anything (imagine changing head steering bearings or anything telelever related) and you could also use it when your bike doesn't have a centerstand and it takes up too much space while standing on the side stand. It's design also gives you way more confidence putting it on/off the stand compared to the paddockstands. With one hand on the handlebar of your bike and one on the lever of the stand, it is way easier to balance it, especially with a heavy motorcycle like a K1200/ K1300, because you're right next to your bike instead of half behind it.

I'd love a skylift, but that was out of budget and also don't have space for it yet. Maybe a future upgrade. I'd either get one of those or a real bike lift, where you can ride your motorcyle ontop.

EDIT: I just checked their website, but they don't sell adaptors for the K bikes... Might have to make your own adaptors if that's your goal

To resurrect this thread.
I have been offered a sky lift quite cheap.
has anyone actually used one on a K1300?
I have contacted ABBA direct and they say that the K is not suitable for the sky lift. I am wondering if this is just because it’s an older model, relatively niche and they can’t be bothered to make the bobbins required.
Thank in anticipation

I had a similar problem. I used to have both the Abba Superbike Stand for many years and only recently before I sold my Thunderace the SkyLift.

Thought I was sorted for life until I contacted them about a kit for my K1300GT only to discover they don’t sell one so the lift became useless to me.

Their might be a little more hope about the stand as this was their reply;

“We use to make a special stand for the K12/1300 & R Nine T that was much lower to suit the lower swing-arm pivot of these models but have since discontinued them.

The normal Superbike Stand is much taller and makes it a very hard lift and too unstable. We do know of customers who have used the normal superbike stand on this bike as we have the fitting kit available but this would have to be at your own risk as its not something we recommend”

And a follow-up reply when I asked the same question about the lift;

“Im afraid so, this model is not compatible with any of our stands.”

If you are interested in a lift the Big Blue seems a good device.

Hope that helps?

Ok so I haven’t actually bought a kit yet but have found out a lot of info this weekend.
ABBA sells a kit that does fit this bike. They won’t recommend as the mounting point is too low. You need to jack up the rear to allow it to work.
On another piece of information someone bought the kit 7 weeks ago.
I think it depends on who you speak to at ABBA.
here are some pictures.
