Dear List Members,

I'm a prospective BMW owner looking at farkle, etc for my coming bike. Can a different horn--specifically a louder one, such as an air horn, be purchased as OEM or after-market for the R1200RT or K1300GT bikes? If so, anyone have any suggestions as to who makes them?

Joyce,

There are several after market horn solutions. Fiamm and Stebel are two that come to mind as being mentioned as installed on K1300GTs recently.

Search on those two brand names and you should get all the info and opinion you would ever want.

The Stebel Nautilus Compact is a good solution.

If you search in the "Hall of Wisdom" under the "technical" tab found on the top of this page you will see several members installation pics.

It is reasonably priced, fits easy and is very loud at 139db from memory.

It took me probably 2 hours to fit mine because I was slowly feeiling my way and had several goes at making a bracket but if I had to do another one I reckon I could be in and out in under an hour.
