Or
If you have windows XP, email the picture to yourself and click on yes when asked if you want to reduce file size.

 

Most of the photo software has a way to change the size of an image file by reducing its resolution.

For example in Microsoft photoeditor you select image/resize and choose pixels. If you then reduce the number you will modify the image to a smaller size. Then just store it as a new file.

In the Canon camera utility you can select a photo, right click, and select export and then a low resolution. This will store the photo as smaller size.

The key is to find a way with the software that came with your camera to reduce the size of the image.
