Hi,

my 85 k100 rs was running fine, then last night it starting running quite roughly.

today it didn't start as quickly as normal.

i did fill the tank up yesterday, was thinking maybe the grade affected it or if perhaps something was dislodged in the process.

maybe a faulty injector?.

any ideas would be welcome as i am rather new to this bike.

How long has it been since the fuel filter was changed? Mysterious fuel issues have been solved by replacing it, but it would depend on how long the existing one has been in service.

I can't say for sure, but when my K isn't starting quite as quickly as normal, I run a good heavy dose of Chevron Techron through the tank. That usually helps within 100 miles. You might also check spark plug gaps and condition. If it has healed itself, consider yourself lucky. Maybe you got some bad gas and it has flowed through. If water got into the tank, you may try putting a couple of ounces of alcohol in the tank. If it is the fuel filter, the bike may idle normally but won't run at power.

K100 Running Rough

The ignition switch on '85s are failing. This can cause mysterious, intermittent stalling and rough running as the sytem is running on less that "full" voltage.

Another possibility is the battery negative cable. If you still have the original very small cable, replace it with a later one.
